Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is one of the legendary Cricketer from India, widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of world Cricket. He has scrored around 51 hundreds in Test Cricket and 48 in One day internationals and 59 fifties in test and 95 in ODIs making around 14000 runs in test and 18000 runs in ODIs. He is the leading run-scorer and century maker in both Test and One-day international cricket. Also he is the only player to score a double century in the history of ODI cricket.
He holds the world record for playing highest number of Test and ODI matches. He has been honoured with the Padma Vibhushan award, India’s second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India’s highest sporting honor.
Sachin became the first sportsperson and the first personality without an aviation background to be awarded the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force. He has also received the honorary doctorate from Mysore University (Karnataka) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. He won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for cricketer of the year at the ICC awards for the year 2010.
