Patricia van Lubeck is a Dutch artist influenced by Surrealism. Patricia van Lubeck became a full time painter in 2000 after being worked as a book keeper. She is a self-taught artist working in a style closely related to magic realism. Her subjects are primarily detailed landscapes which she calls her ‘psychedelic gardens’. Her work consists of oil paintings, illustrations and sculptures.

Patricia Van Lubeck’s paintings have realistic elements, but above all an alienating atmosphere. Her works in recent years show brightly colored landscapes and weired plant species which she calls ‘psychedelic gardens’. She consider her work to be an exploration of the ways we experience our environment. She is always trying to achieve high contrast within an unlimited color range.
