Yes, it is possible. Here is the technology. It’s the famous Falkirk Wheel, a gigantic wheel that lifts boats in Scotland.
Falkirk Wheel started functioning in the year 2002 and its connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. It has a huge structure of wheel with two ring gears. The boat from one canal is first placed inside one of the ring gear and it rotates 180 degrees to lift up the boat and ready to move to the other canal.
