Multi-coloured Glass Gem Corns by Carl Barnes from Oklahoma

Carl Barnes, Cherokee farmer from Oklahoma has developed a corn breed called the Glass Gem Corn. It was his uncanny knack and many years of painstaking effort resulted growing this multi-coloured Glass Gem corn. These multicolored kernels of corn look like glass beads belong to a specially bred variety named Glass Gem Corn.
Carl observed every often that a cob showed signs of unusual colouring shining through the corn yield. He collected all those coloured seeds and developed this breed. Carl then handed over these precious seeds to his friend Greg Schoen who also learned the process of breeding the Glass Gem Corn. To protect and regenerate these seeds, Greg stored them with Native Seeds/Search a non profit organization of America.
One can buy these corn seeds from Native Seeds/SEARCH and also from Amazon. You can share the pictures of your harvested Glass Gem corn on Facebook page.
